The Ukrainian people are just absolutely extraordinary in character. I have never seen in my lifetime a collective group of people being so heavily carpet bombed and yet not broken and bitter, but instead brave, stoic, and carrying on with life with perfect resolve.
Hundreds of Indian medical students who were in Ukraine returned home to India when the war broke out. But today the Indian news media informed that their Ukrainian teachers who remained home amidst the Russian pounding have started classes online for those students so that their studies are not affected.
Svetlana Matviyenko is a Ukrainian professor teaching with Simon Fraser University in Burnaby. Last year she moved to Ukraine to be with her aging parents and has continued to teach through the University remotely. She too has continued teaching unabated though all around her everything has been turned to rubble.
The Ukrainians are an amazing people. If this is how exceptional they are when at the lowest point in their lives, how amazing these people would have been in peace and prosperity.
And it may have been a fear of these exceptional characteristics in the Ukrainian people that would have made Putin and the Kremlin so angry, jealous, and nervous about them that they decided to totally cripple the meritorious Ukrainian people.
