Reality and its knowledge are not just what is out there separate from you, but also what is there in your mind about them; that is, it is also how you perceive the reality and its knowledge.
Till the reality that is out there is fully known and a clear, singular version that is acceptable and based on tangible evidence is established, there will always be multiple and contesting versions of what that reality actually is. To establish a clear and singular version of reality often is far too easily said than done.
Unauthenticated and unverified versions of reality are open to manipulation. They often are the products of self-interest and serve to fulfil the personal, hidden, and even malicious agendas of individuals and groups. They can be very influential and seem authentic till they are fully verified with a thorough check of all evidence relating to the reality. And that checking of reality on so many issues does never happen.
The complexities of reality and knowledge and the difficulty and near impossibility of capturing reality and knowledge fully and to everybody's satisfaction has to do with the hurdles relating to the interests and persuasions of human beings. It must be asked in this context, can humans ever answer the question, what is right, without somewhere in their minds and emotions also asking at the same time, what is right (right in the sense of being beneficial) for me and for my interests?
The human mind isn't perfect and it doesn't often know that it doesn't know. And at other times when it thinks it knows, it is compelled in its knowledge by self-interest.
What is right must be completely detached from what is right for me. That is when reality can be fully captured and the path to knowledge achieved.
