Yesterday was in some ways a turning point in the war in Ukraine.
Ukraine for the first time in this war crossed the border and bombed two oil depots in a Russian border town.
What will a weakened Russia do to avenge this daring act by a much smaller foe remains to be seen?
Russia could further go into a frenzy and raze to the ground the capital and other cities in the West of Ukraine, or it could do the unthinkable - attack a NATO country such as Poland, if Russia thinks Poland is a supplier of the MI-24 Russian made helicopter to Ukraine and other war arsenal.
That would without a doubt put the world into crisis through an escalation of the war, the end of global trade, and millions around the world dying of hunger and starvation while those in Europe, especially Eastern Europe die as victims of war. Hunger and starvation due to speedily rising inflation in far away countries such as the South Asian countries of India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan could trigger a people's unrest and lead to civil war. Or to divert attention and force an emergency the heads of State in these and other countries could instigate war with their neighbours. The same could happen in Korea, China and Taiwan, Iran and the Arab world and elsewhere.
The future doesn't look good, secure, or peaceful. Global devastation is around the corner especially if the Kremlin and Putin lose their heads, which they have all this while shown has been the case.
